Want a chance to learn Bass from a university educated instructor in your own home? YourPlace Music School offers in-home bass lessons around Victoria and online bass lessons from anywhere you happen to be. 

We offer everyone from kids, teens, adults and seniors a chance to learn bass. We can accommodate any style: stand-up, slap/pop, electric and more. We also accommodate any genre from pop, jazz, rock, blues, classical, funk, reggae, metal and beyond. We like to incorporate fun games into lessons to help kids use their competitive nature to develop muscle memory.

Hart Parnell

With a passion for music encompassing multiple styles, Hart Parnell (he/him) combines classical training with years of playing in rock and blues bands. Having studied under classical guitar virtuoso Alex Dunn, Hart graduated from UVic with a BMus (2017). Equipped to teach guitar of all styles, ukulele, bass and piano, Hart believes everyone deserves the opportunity to learn to play music and has had great success with students with ADD, ADHD and other diverse abilities in the past. Joshua Amendt-Moylan

Joshua has been a music geek his entire life. He played trumpet in school band, he studied piano until graduating high school and achieving his grade 8 level in the conservatory of music for piano. The instrument that moved him to take up music professionally was the electric guitar. Rock bands like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin inspired him to buy a six string and dedicate himself to learning classic rock & roll riffs, and eventually leading him towards his purpose in life. Ian Sirias

Ian Sirias (he/him) is an accomplished pianist, teacher and musician. He has been actively teaching and performing piano and guitar on the island for over 10 years. Ian received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Victoria as well as a Diploma from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. On top of being classically trained, Ian teaches a variety of styles including rock, jazz and more. Students have remarked on Ian's easy going and fun nature that allows for an engaging and interactive learning experience. Ian takes great pride in his work to bring the joy of music into peoples lives.

Troy Serson is a Guitar & Ukulele instructor of 11 years who teaches online and in-person lessons from beginner to advanced.
