About Anaïs

Anaïs has been making music since the age of six, when her grandmother first sat her down at the piano. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion, leading her to explore nearly every string instrument she could find. While she plays violin, viola, cello, bass guitar, ukulele, and piano, the double bass became her main voice. Over the years, Anaïs has performed professionally in both jazz and classical settings, from small jazz combos to full orchestras. Her versatility means she is equally at home shaping a Bach cello suite on the bass or locking in with a drummer on a groove.

How she teaches

Anaïs believes music is for everyone and loves meeting students right where they are. She creates lessons that balance technique and creativity, whether a student is learning their very first scale, tackling advanced repertoire, or simply exploring music for fun. Her goal is to keep lessons engaging, flexible, and meaningful—always connecting back to the joy of making music.

Learning styles she supports

Visual learners benefit from notation, diagrams, and clear demonstrations. Auditory learners strengthen skills through call-and-response, guided listening, and improvisation. Kinesthetic learners engage through movement, rhythm, and hands-on string exploration. Anaïs also supports multi-instrumental curiosity, helping students make connections across piano, guitar, bass, and more.

Background

Alongside teaching private lessons, Anaïs has led string classes and double bass masterclasses, sharing her knowledge with a wide range of students. She is passionate about exploring the connections between genres - rock, folk, pop, jazz, and classical - and believes every style has something to teach. For her, music isn’t about fitting into one box; it’s about discovering endless ways to create, express, and grow.
