A minor sequencing
LevelIntermediate
An intermediate guitar exercise
Sequencing can work for all scales and it’s a great way to get some mobility. Once you start doing it you realize how often popular melodies and solos will contain sequenced little movements here and there.
Start on the scale of your choice, move forward by three degrees (notes of the scale) and then back by one degree, forward three back by one etc. until you reach the end of the scale. I’ve used the example of A minor above which also works well because the notes are nice and simple. A B C, B C D, C D E, D E F, Etc.
