Jane Johnson

Jane Johnson M.Mus. is passionate about making music approachable, inspiring, and rewarding for students of all ages. With more than 40 years of teaching experience, she creates a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, take risks, and grow at their own pace.

Lessons are personal and flexible. Jane adapts to each student’s goals—building strong technique and reading skills, learning favourite songs, developing confident performance habits, or preparing for exams when that’s the aim. Creativity, confidence, and enjoyment are at the heart of every lesson.

Jane is an active member of the Alberta Music Teachers Association, the BC Music Teachers Association, and the Canadian Musicians Union. She is also a certified adjudicator and examiner in Alberta and British Columbia.

Based in Langford and teaching across Colwood and Royal Bay, Jane works with busy families and adult learners who value lessons close to home and tailored scheduling. Her warm, student-centered approach helps students not only learn how to play but also discover a lifelong love of music.
