Jerry (he/him) is a 3rd year UVic School of Music Piano Performance major with over 6 years of piano teaching experience. Since 2015, Jerry started teaching piano privately to young children increasing his ability to teach as well as perform, he has a very strong aspect on teaching piano just as much as performing. Jerry's students have gone on to achieve first class honours with distinction in Royal Conservatory of Music examinations, as well as first prizes in musical competitions. Jerry wishes to share his experiences with music with the world and to inspire youths to understand and have interest in learning music.
At the conservatory Jerry was a 2 year recipient of the Millicent Lavory Piano Scholarship for musical excellence and completed his Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 10 piano certificate with first class honours as well as the Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto (ARCT) piano performance diploma with first class honours. He was given many opportunities to perform for events such as the Mother's Day Garden Works Tour, Chinatown Night Market, private events at the Fairmont Empress Hotel, annual studio performances at the Alix Goolden Performance Hall, and the Victoria Conservatory of Music honours concerts. In June 2019, Jerry decided to pause his studies at the University of Victoria. Under the invitation of Professor Denys Masliuk in Koper, Slovenia, Jerry decided to spend the next 2 years studying under Professor Masliuk in Koper, Sloveniaand gave his first European concert debut in Piran, Slovenia at the St.Georges cathedral. Over the months Jerry performed new repertoire at the Gravisi-Barbabianca Palace in Koper, Slovenia. Throughout 2019-2020 Jerry attended several masterclasses hosted by several professors in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Croatia.
